PT design review, optimisation and full PT packages in Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait
PT slab design, tendon layouts and calculation reports for buildings in Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait, delivered remotely from Dubai for the local consultant of record or PT contractor.
A GCC PT design partner, delivered remotely.
Post-tensioned slabs are used across the Gulf for residential towers, offices, hotels, malls and car parks. In smaller markets, a local consultant may not have a PT specialist in-house, and the PT contractor's own design office may be stretched across several countries. Iron Axis fills that gap as a specialist PT design engineer working to the local consultant's specification.
The design is prepared in Dubai and issued in your title block and CAD standard: scheme, analysis model, calculation report, tendon layouts and profiles, and stressing schedules. The local consultant of record remains responsible for the submission and stamps the drawings in line with local regulations; we support them through review comments.
Oman
Projects in Muscat and elsewhere in the Sultanate are submitted through the relevant municipality by a locally registered consultant. Coastal exposure along the Batinah coast and in Muscat makes concrete cover and tendon protection a scheme-stage decision rather than a detailing afterthought.
Bahrain
Bahrain's dense, reclaimed-land sites and mixed-use towers make PT attractive for floor-to-floor height and span. Chloride exposure and ground conditions on reclaimed land feed into durability and foundation interfaces, which we coordinate with the consultant.
Kuwait
High summer temperatures and long podium floor plates make early-age shrinkage and restraint cracking a real risk. Pour strips, stressing sequence and restraint from cores and walls are designed, not left to site.
Codes and how we confirm them.
Our standard PT design basis is ACI 318-19 with PTI DC80 guidance, which is widely accepted in the region; we also design to EN 1992 and BS 8110 where a consultant specifies them. The governing code, loading standard, exposure class and fire rating are confirmed at kick-off for each project. See our PT slab design checklist for the checks every slab receives.
| Item | How it is handled |
|---|---|
| Drawings and models | File transfer in the consultant's format |
| Coordination | Video calls, WhatsApp and email |
| Site queries | RFI responses with marked-up sketches |
| Stressing | Remote elongation record review |
| Site visits | Planned visits where agreed in the scope |
Time zones and working weeks across the GCC are close to the UAE's, so coordination calls and same-day replies work in practice. Where a site query needs a sketch, we mark up the shop drawing and send it back with the reasoning, so the local team can record it as a formal RFI response.
For the Kingdom and Qatar, see PT design in Saudi Arabia and PT design in Qatar.
Questions we are asked about this.
Can you stamp drawings in Oman, Bahrain or Kuwait?
Submissions and stamps are by the locally registered consultant of record. We prepare the PT design and support their review.
Do you visit site outside the UAE?
Planned visits can be included in the scope; day-to-day support is remote.
Which PT systems do you design for?
Unbonded monostrand and bonded multistrand systems, using the data of the PT system selected for the project.
Send the drawings. Get an answer from our engineers.
WhatsApp or email the architectural or structural set, the location and what you need. The reply comes from the engineers who will do the work, with a proposed scope and programme.
